About Me

It all started back in Queens, NY in the 80's...just kidding...not going to bore you with my life story!

I'm an eclectic crafter (sewing, crochet, clay, paint, etc), novice gardener, amazing cook (according to my family), and part time Etsy shop owner.

My "real" job right now is counseling kids.  I have a M.Ed. in school counseling, but I'm currently doing in-home work with children, and ABA based behavior therapy for kids with autism.

I'm married to an awesome man, who writes music and loves video games.  There's a saying in the video game world:  the couples that play together, stay together!  Lucky for him, I actually enjoy playing them too.

I have Celiac disease, diagnosed in July 2012.  In general, I think I've transitioned well to a gluten free lifestyle thanks to supportive family and friends.  Going out to eat is still annoying, grocery shopping takes a lot longer, and I miss beer something awful.  I'm extremely thankful it's manageable with diet changes and I don't need to take medications!

Fun facts about me:

  • I love both Star Wars and Star Trek...I don't care, they're both great in their own way!
  • I enjoy period (Victorian, Regency, etc) romance novels.
  • I could eat pork every day. Bacon....mmmmmmm....
  • When I was younger, I wanted to be a geologist.
  • I'm a little obsessed with 1950's vintage, mostly ladies clothes and housewares.
  • I worked in coffee shops for many years, and still make a mean cappuccino.
  • My favorite color is teal.
  • I'm a Myers-Briggs personality type INFJ, and a Holland code IAS.
  • I'm pretty silly sometimes.
